Canadian Centre for Cyber Security releases baseline controls for SMBs

The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, part of the Communications Security Establishment, is Canada's authority on cybersecurity. Last week, they released a document outlining their baseline controls, which give guidance to small and medium Canadian businesses regarding to the most important technical and procedural steps to take (or "controls") to protect themselves. From the document:

This document presents the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security baseline cyber security controls wherein we attempt to apply the 80/20 rule (achieve 80% of the benefit from 20% of the effort) to the cyber security practices of small and medium organizations in Canada.

This is an excellent resource and a necessary step for our government to take in helping to establish better cybersecurity practices across Canada.
